Success of ATM2-Pro with local golf professional
William Boyd is a local golf professional who recently came to my clinic for help with his back pain that was limiting his ability to play golf on consecutive days. He had a dream to play professionally which he hoped would allow him to have a background to teach golf locally. He had completed his collegiate career with the help of a local chiropractor but was feeling less improvement with recent visits. His medical doctor suggested physical therapy and he began treatment at my clinic. After a brief physical evaluation and some highlights from the TPI evaluation for golf specific problems a treatment program was designed.
We immediately began using the ATM2 to address a slight scoliosis, complaints of lumbar and thoracic pain, and poor thoracic rotation. Within the first four visits consisting of manual therapy, home exercise program and the ATM2, he began to experience significant pain reduction and returned to play consecutive days. After 9 visits in my clinic, his pain was minimal and he had returned to practice and playing golf daily with plans to play in his first professional golf tournament. He continued to come into the clinic for a few weeks to maintain the improvements he felt in his golf swing, especially the increased rotation from the ATM2 treatments. At the conclusion of treatment he stopped treatment in order to attend a professional tour in South Carolina . At last discussion he was playing well and having no pain with his golf game.
William and I feel the ATM2 combined with some manual therapy played a significant role in his ability to return to competitive golf and further his career as a golf professional.
